A prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Ifelodun, Boripe, and Odo-Otin federal constituency, Hon. Basheer Adegboyega Bello, BABS, has emphasized the importance of career development during the inauguration of the Jẹjẹ Agba Foundation (JAF) Vocational Training Centre in Ikirun.
The well-attended event marked a significant step toward youth empowerment and skill development. Addressing the gathering, Hon. BABS described the event as “an event of virtue,” commending the Foundation for its “pure and progressive mindset” in building a society that empowers and uplifts the youth. He stated that “nothing is more paramount in life than having a value to add to society as a human.”
He urged students at the centre to commit fully to their vocational studies, highlighting that with seriousness and dedication, their training would open doors to productive engagement and sustainable livelihoods.
“This initiative is not just a centre of learning but a new beginning for many youths,” he said. “No more running around the streets, no more frivolous lives. You are now agents of change and sanity in the society. We must join hands together to put an end to deceit and wrongdoing through the dignity of skilled work.”
“I am committed to the youth empowerment which I have been doing for over a decades across IBO Federal Constituency where we trained some set of youths every year and empowered them with equipments and other necessary needs for their business start up.”
Hon. BABS further assured the students that their efforts would not be in vain, pledging access to free working equipment and a suitable workspace to aid their journey. He encouraged them to remain prayerful and focused as they prepare to contribute meaningfully to humanity.
Earlier in the event, the Founder of JAF, Alfa Jẹjẹ Agba, and the Foundation’s President, Comrade AbdulGaniyy O. (popularly known as Odolokan), expressed their gratitude to God for the growth of the organization. They noted that the Foundation, which began operations some years ago, now has branches across Nigeria and the United Kingdom.
According to them, the JAF Vocational Training Centre was established to foster human-capacity development in collaboration with both government and private stakeholders.
“This is not just an ordinary workshop,” said Alfa Jẹjẹ Agba. “This is a fully government-approved vocational school with structured curricula, theory and practical components, handbooks, school uniforms, and certified graduation certificates.”
The school will operate a two-semester academic calendar per session, with an online portal in place for academic updates and result checking. Registration is currently ongoing, with classes set to commence on July 7, 2025, and matriculation scheduled for July 8.
The JAF Vocational Training Centre aims to provide hands-on training in various trades, equipping students with the skills and knowledge to thrive independently and contribute positively to society.
