The All Progressives Congress (APC) party Governorship candidate in Osun State, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), has reaffirmed his commitment to inclusive governance, gender equity, and balanced community development across the state when he is elected as the Governor.

Bola Oyebamiji who was represented by Alhaji Bello Adegboyega Basheer (BABS), made this pledge on Saturday while speaking as the Special Guest of Honour at the 2026 Ramadan Public Lecture organised by the Women’s Wing of the Inisa Muslim Elite Association (IMEA) in Inisa, Odo-Otin Local Government Area.

He emphasized that when elected, his administration would prioritize the welfare of all residents without discrimination.

“Our priority is the wellbeing of the people of Osun State. All hands will be on deck to do what is necessary and to spread the dividends of democracy across every nook and cranny of the state in a balanced manner. We shall not discriminate; every religion, individual, rural and urban area will be treated fairly without any form of sentiment,” he said.

Oyebamiji also pledged adequate care and protection for children, stressing that building a morally sound society begins with proper child upbringing.

He commended the IMEA Women’s Wing for its sustained efforts in guiding parents toward responsible child-rearing and moral upbringing. According to him, the association’s orientation programmes and enlightenment campaigns have positively impacted many families, particularly young women, empowering them to become productive members of society.

In their separate remarks, the Chairman of the Day, Alhaji Aderemi Bello, and the Ameerah of IMEA Women’s Wing, Alhaja Sulaiman Faoziyyah Temilade, described women as the custodians of the home, noting that their sacrifices in nurturing families amount to a form of hidden worship.

The Ameerah explained that the core mandate of the IMEA Women’s Wing is to nurture souls and strengthen homes, emphasizing the belief that charity begins at home. She highlighted the importance of embracing spiritual values to raise a morally upright generation.

“In the spirit of Ramadan, we should purify our inner selves from negativity while nurturing sincerity and patience. As we balance domestic responsibilities and care for our families, we must also nurture our souls. The discipline, compassion, and charity cultivated during Ramadan should continue beyond the holy month,” the Chairman said.

Delivering the lecture titled “Child Rearing: The Islamic Perspective,” Alhaja Suhebat Ibiyemi Adeyemo urged parents to avoid frivolous approaches to parenting and instead raise their children in accordance with Islamic teachings.

She warned that many wayward behaviours among youths today stem from poor parental guidance and a lack of awareness about children’s real-life activities.

Alhaja Adeyemo identified several factors influencing modern children, both positively and negatively, including social media exposure, community and environmental pressures, unstable marital foundations, and the absence of harmonious family living.

“For successful child rearing, parents must live exemplary lives worthy of emulation. We must involve our children in Islamic activities, especially the Duha (prayer), engage in consistent moral guidance, particularly for young adults, and maintain high standards of peaceful family life,” she urged.

The event underscored the importance of faith-based values, responsible parenting, and inclusive governance in fostering a morally sound and progressive society.
