Barrister Yomi Ogunwale has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the former Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State and the revered Owa Of Igbajo, Oba Philip Adegboyega Famodun III, describing his death as a monumental loss to Osun State, the APC family, and traditional institutions.

According to Barr. Ogunwale, Oba Famodun was a rare leader—courageous, principled, and deeply committed to the growth and unity of Osun State. As APC State Chairman, he played a significant role in nurturing party stability, offering guidance, wisdom, and fatherly leadership to members across the state.

He noted that Oba Famodun’s transition from political leadership to the royal stool of Owa Of Igbajo marked a historic moment for Ijesaland, demonstrating the depth of trust, respect, and honor the people had for him. His reign, though short, was purposeful, dignified, and filled with genuine intentions for the progress of his kingdom.

Barr. Ogunwale further described Oba Famodun as a bridge-builder, a peace advocate, and a man of impeccable character, whose legacy will remain evergreen in Osun’s political and traditional history. He extended heartfelt condolences to the royal family, the people of Ijesaland, the APC family, and all who benefited from the late monarch’s wisdom and leadership.

He prayed for God to grant the departed royal father eternal rest and to give the family and the entire Osun APC the strength to bear the irreplaceable loss.
