Hon. Chief Adeniyi Ismail Oluwatosin (AIO), a respected chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Boluwaduro, Ifedayo, and Ila Federal Constituency, has extended deep condolences to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, HE Adegboyega Oyetola, the APC State Chairman, and the entire progressive family across Osun State and Nigeria, following the demise of Oba Philip Adegboyega Famodun III, the Owa of Igbajo.

In a solemn statement released on Sunday, AIO described the monarch’s transition as “an enormous setback and a colossal loss to Igbajoland, the progressive political family, and the revered institution of traditional leadership in Yorubaland.”

AIO noted that the late Owa was a man of towering dignity, lucidity of mind, and uncommon devotion to communal harmony. His reign symbolized stability, reconciliation, and renewed confidence in the cultural heritage of Igbajo. He emphasized that Oba Famodun’s passing is not just a blow to his kingdom, but a painful rupture felt across the entire progressive structure from the Ward to the National level, because of the monarch’s long-standing association, moral support, and principled alignment with progressive ideals.

AIO conveyed heartfelt sympathy to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that the President has lost not only a traditional ruler, but a steadfast supporter and respected elder whose insights, loyalty, and cultural wisdom greatly enriched the progressive fold.

He also commiserated with HE Adegboyega Oyetola, describing the late monarch as a dependable ally of the former Osun Governor and a stabilizing force who consistently stood for equity, decorum, and good governance.

To the APC State Chairman and the entire party leadership, AIO extended words of comfort, acknowledging that the progressive family in Osun State has lost a towering force who, even from the throne, remained committed to the growth and consolidation of the party’s ideals.

AIO also identified closely with the grief of party members across Ila, Ifedayo, and Boluwaduro Federal Constituency, noting that Oba Famodun’s passage has cast a shadow of sorrow over every home that values peace, truth, and leadership with integrity.

AIO offered fervent prayers for the royal family, chiefs, the people of Igbajo, and the entire APC structure nationwide. “May Almighty Allah envelop the family he left behind with divine consolation. May He fortify their spirits, reinforce their courage, and grant them the emotional resilience to navigate this trying moment,” he prayed.

He further asked for divine strength for the progressive family:

“May the APC, as a political institution, find renewed unity, inward strength, and unshakeable peace despite this grievous loss. May this tragedy remind us of the impermanence of life and the necessity of standing together as one cohesive family.”

AIO concluded by urging the people of Igbajo and the broader progressive community to uphold the legacy of the late monarch, a legacy anchored in truth, discipline, justice, and the elevation of communal interest above personal ambition.
