As the consultation tours of the leading gubernatorial aspirant of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, popularly called AMBO, hit Ila and Boripe Local Government Areas on Saturday, the leaders of the party have thrown their weights behind Oyebamiji, describing him ‘the party’s popular choice.’

This is even as Oyebamiji expressed profound gratitude to the party leaders and loyalists for their unflinching support and solidarity, saying “we are highly impressed by the massive turnout across our local governments.”

The party leaders and members had earlier occupied major streets in Ila Orangun, Iragbiji and Iree both in Ila and Boripe Local Government Areas to cheers their preferred aspirant as they were singing and chanting solidarity songs in support of Oyebamiji.

Speaking intermittently at the event, member, Osun Elders’ Forum, Hon. Joshua Adediji; APC Chairman, Ila Local Government Area, Hon. Joshua Adedokun; Chairman, Boripe Local Government APC Elders’ Forum, Hon. Bello Osuolale; former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prince Adebayo Adeleke; former lawmaker, Hon. Lateef Adebisi Jayeola; Executive Director, NIMASA, Hon. Taye Adeyemi; former member House of Representatives, Hon. Yinka Ajayi; Boripe Local Government APC Chairman, Hon. Mufutau Omogboye; APC chieftains, Hon. Adeniyi Ismail Oluwatosin, Hon. Kareem Afolabi, Alhaji Sulaiman Aderemi, Alhaji Yunus Sobalaje and Alhaja Yusuf Falilat Arike popularly called Ero-Arike, expressed confidence in the Oyebamiji’s sterling leadership qualities to lead the party to victory.

In his words, Osuolale, reaffirmed their loyalty to the overall leader of the party who doubled as the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, noting that as far as Boripe is concerned, they remained resolute to work in unison in order to return APC to power come 2026.

In his remarks, Prince Adebayo Adeleke said: “To us in Boripe, AMBO is our choice. No going back, and we will do all within our power as party loyalists to ensure his emergence at the primary and main governorship election.

” As it is today in Boripe, Oyebamiji is our aspirant and we have confidence in his competence to lead our party to victory. Our party leaders here are for AMBO and nothing more. I can assure you that whatsoever the mode of primary adopted by the leadership of the party, Oyebamiji will come victorious. Victory is ours and it remains non-negotiable”, Adeleke added.

Similarly, Hon. Jayeola stated: ” Whoever that saw the crowd today in support of Oyebamiji will need not to be told before he knows that our preferred aspirant — Oyebamiji is going to be our party candidate to send Governor Ademola Adeleke packing come 2026. We are resolute, highly committed and focused to lead the party to victory as our aspirant remains the only contestant to beat anytime anyday.”

Former federal lawmaker, Hon. Yinka Ajayi in his remarks said: ” the choice of Oyebamiji is not only apposite but meritoriously as he remains the only formidable, sellable and marketable contestant to lead the party to victory in the forthcoming governorship election in Osun. He has been tested to be trusted and he has all the wherewithal to fly our party flag and take us to the promised land of winning the next governorship election.”

In the same vein, APC stalwart, Hon. Adeniyi Ismail eulogized Oyebamiji’s verifiable imprints and enduring legacies while serving the state at different capacities, adding “he is the most competent and eminently qualified person to coast our party to victory come 2026.”

In his remarks, Oyebamiji expressed delight in the impressive turnouts in both Local Governments, noting “it is an indication that our people are for us.”

He commended the leadership and members of the party for their unflinching support across the local governments visited so far, promising not to let anyone down.

With the visits to Ila and Boripe Local Government Areas, Oyebamiji had toured 29 Local Governments and Ife-East Area Office, Modakeke.
