I have read what appears like a response to the interview granted by Ismail Omipidan , on the above subject matter from the Aregbesola camp.
Firstly, I saw a deliberate attempt to downplay the personality and pedigree of seasoned journalist of over two decades experience by the Aregbesola camp.
To call a man who had worked as a journalist in Maiduguri, Kaduna, Abuja and Lagos and held position of a Bureau Chief of an entire region as “self-acclaimed” is uncharitable. It shows malice. In the release, the Aregbesola camp claimed Osun stakeholders and not Tinubu nominated Aregbesola. I listened to Omipidan’s interview.
He said Chief Bisi Akande and Tinubu did. But the question, who are the Osun Stakeholders who nominated Aregbesola?
Then, what about the issue of revalidation exercise among others? I thought since the camp has decided to response, it should have addressed other issues as well.
At the end of the day, the Aregbesola camp cannot rewrite history by twisting facts or hiding under vague claims of “Osun stakeholders.” The records are there, the actors are alive, and the truth is not subject to their propaganda.
If they truly have answers, let them confront the issues Omipidan raised one by one, instead of resorting to cheap blackmail and name-calling. Otherwise, silence would serve them better than exposing their desperation.
