The Governorship Campaign Movement of the Managing Director, National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA), Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji (AMBO), has expressed confidence in the capacity of its principal to clinch the All Progressive Congress (APC) ticket and defeat the incumbent in the 2026 Governorship election owing to his strong support base across the state.

Led by the immediate-past Speaker, Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Honourable Timothy Owoeye, the AMBO Movement expressed the confidence in Osogbo today during a meeting with AMBO campaign structures, including the AMBO Strategic Committee, Local Government Stakeholders, Local Government Coordinators, Ward Coordinators, Women Assembly and Youth Assembly across the state.

Addressing the structures, Owoeye urged members not to be distracted, rather, they should strengthen their mobilisations of support for Oyebamiji’s Governorship bid, regardless of their strong support base.

According to him, Oyebamiji has the capacity and clout to defeat the incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke during the 2026 Governorship election, urging members of the structures not to entertain any fear.

Owoeye emphasised the need for members of the structures to be more proactive in sensitising and mobilisations voters for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Voter’s Registration as well as the forthcoming primaries of the pparty.

He also tasked all the structures within the movement to begin in earnest, the registration of members who align with the AMBO Project, revealing that the movement would show strength and capacity through this avenue.

The forrmer speaker further revealed that the movement would be fully involved in the continuous voters registration of INEC by providing the needed support for the structure from the unit level to the state level. He added that the movement’s resolve to winning the 2026 elections for the former commissioner for finance would be backed up by actions.

Secretary of the movement, Prince Adebayo Adeleke (BANIK), urged members not to be intimated by the threats and shenanigans of the ruling People’s Democratic Party, affirming that the threats are signs of the looming defeat of the Adeleke’s administration.

According to him, no members of the party can be threatened or attacked without legal consequences, saying the APC is as strong as ever and committed to win 2026 governorship election with Oyebamiji as the candidate of the party.

The first speaker of the Osun House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Wale Afolabi and Hon. Bade Falade, a former member of the House of Representatives, charged members present to go back to their local governments to mobilize support for AMBO.

Falade urged members not to be dissuaded by the antics of the opposition, affirming that AMBO would emerge as the party’s flag-bearer for the August 8th, 2026 governorship election.

Chief Yinka Adeojo, a former state Secretary of the PDP who recently dumped the party for APC, tasked stakeholders on a united front ahead of the elections, noting that AMBO remains the pathway to victory at the 2026 guber elections.

Present at the summit were, former members of the House of Representatives, Honourable Babatunde Ayeni, Honourable Yinka Ajayi, Honourable Bade Falade; former state Secretary of the PDP, Honourable Yinka Adeojo; member Federal Character Commission, Dayo Eluyemi; Chief Moshood Adekunle (MOSHADEK), Mr Richard Tinubu; Barrister Kayode Oduoye, a former PDP governorship aspirant; Mr Adegboyega Bello (BABS), Alhaji Sule Aderemi, Mr Segun Fanibe and Hon Sola Ogunfolaju.

Others were members of state House of Assembly, Hon Akinola Olasunkanmi, Hon Mulikat Adeola, Hon Babatunde Komolafe, Hon Ajibola Akinloye, Hon Leke Ogunsola, Hon Debo Akanbi, Hon Tomi Aloba, Hon Nasiru Olateju, Hon Ali Uzamot, Hon Bisi Jayeola and Hon Adiru Adegbile, among others.
