Former Commissioner for Local Governments and Chieftaincy Affairs in Osun State, Prince Adebayo Adeleke (BANIK) has extended warm greetings to Christians faithful on the joyous occasion of Christmas.
In a statement made available to journalists today, Prince Adeleke described Christimas period as a season of love, peace, compassion, humility and selflessness.
According to him, these features of the Christmas season are the reflection on the virtues exemplified by Jesus Christ.
BANIK emphasizes that Christmas is not just a time for festivities but also an opportunity to reflect on love, happiness, and humanity’s collective wellbeing.
He them described the birth of Christ as a profound moment that underscores forgiveness and salvation, urging Christians to emulate the spirit of Christmas by demonstrating love, sacrifice, and unity.
He also urged Christians to use the season to pray for the peace, unity, and progress of the nation, while also extending love and support to the less privileged in society.
BANIK also charged residents of the state to also pray for better days ahead in Osun as 2026 governorship election draws nearers, saying the prayers should be particularly focused on saving the state from the present administration that has given nepotism, frivolity and wasteful spending a pride position.
He then wished Nigerians Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year in advance, urging citizens to celebrate responsibly and remain hopeful for a brighter future.
