The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has described the recent appointment of Alhaji Ismail Omipidan, the Chief Press Secretary (CPS) to the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, as the Deputy Editor (Politics and Head of Political Desk), by The SUN Newspaper as deserving, worthy and commendable.

There is no gainsaying the fact that Omipidan, a thorough-bred journalist has used his professional endowment to deepen the ethos of democratic party politics in Osun State as the media manager of the state leader of our party as a governor and as the maiden Minister of Marine and Blue Economy.

Omipidan who hails from Ila-Orangun in Osun State has proven to be an exceptional human being whose influence in the sustainability of the unification of our party in the state would remain evergreen as it’s on record that he was always at the bell and call anytime there was a need to improve the status of our party.

We, in the Osun State chapter of the APC, are going to miss the ever-productive contributions of the man of character and highly respected journalism guru who never, for once, allowed the attainment of his career success in both politics and journalism to get into his head.

When we think of Omipidan’s analytical political skills, one could not but submit that his exit from the fold of the progressives is a big minus to us which is the reason his sudden exit will create a big gap that would be difficult to fill in the political struggle of the state.

The plight of Omipidan’s new appointment could be likened to a girl who is getting married but her father is finding it difficult to let her go because of the existing affection between the daughter and the father.

Since the reason for Omipidan’s exit is his desire to reach the pick of his career which is the aspiration of all rational human beings, we can only join his well-wishers to wish him well in his new avenue of service to humanity.

Writing about Omipidan’s exit from the political theatre of Osun State at this time in the history of the state is a difficult task as it is not easy for a commander to lose one of his resourceful soldiers who has history of numerous accomplishments at the war fronts.

The immediate-past spokesman of the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy is humility personified, respectful, witty and kind to a fault which were the rare attributes that distinguished him from his peers and, to a large extent, helped him to achieve his set goals as the media manager of the workaholic and financial engineer, former Governor Oyetola.

The ceaseless battle we fought together in the interest of the attraction of qualitative governance to our state would ever remain indelible in the memory of the discerning members of the society who are desirous to have the best governor who can compete favourably among the other governors in this country.

We wish you the best of luck and opportunities in your new career.
