It’s illuminatingly jocund having one of the brightest Nigerians of Osun descent celebrated today.
When the global stateman cum American Diplomat,Dr.Henry Kissinger posited that ‘ the task of a good leader is to take his people from where they are to where they have not been’ he must have envisaged someone with embodiment of leadership traits like Alhaji Isiak Adegboyega Oyetola -a quintessential leader whose perspicacious management skills and political acumen remain nonpareil.
It’s trite in management proclivities -,be it private or public engagement- that a leader must be munificently endowed with the following qualities: communication, integrity, motivation, empathy, patience, inspiration, innovation and above all resilience. It’s no gainsaying that all the foregoing qualities are humongously embedded in our leader ,Gboyega Oyetola whose political meme is Ileri Oluwa.
In his stint as Osun State Governor,he had brought those glowing attributes to bear in the discharge of functions of his office resulting in our State witnessing unprecedented developments in the areas of healthcare delivery, education, infrastructure and human capital development.
Dr.Henry Kissinger, supra ,had posited that power is ultimate aphrodisiac, Oyetola has refused to be a slave to power under any guise as some sophomoric, rambunctious and impudent political charlatans would do.He understands the fugacious nature of power hence his modest approach to the fundamentals of governance.
In his current assignment as the Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, he has never been found languorous in the performance of his ministerial assignments.
He has continually raised the bar of governance in any office he finds himself. He is undoubtedly punctilious with the rarest mental acuity required of a good leader which has largely accounted for his acts of derring-do.
To him ,the latin phrase, *non* *sibi sed patrae* must be embraced in the course of rendering public service .
As the indisputable paterfamilias of progressive bent in our State ,I can not but wish this avatar of governance, non-prebendal statesman ,political panjandrum and a management cognoscente of no mean order, a happy birthday.
