…Over 700 Osun residents receive cash, food items

…We’ve impacted close to 3000 households so far- donor, Kayode Sowade

The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola CON on Sunday expressed confidence in the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to lead the country to the enviable heights ever known in history.

Oyetola acknowledged the present situation in the country just as he commended the President’s ‘can-do spirit’ in turning difficulties to opportunities for the betterment of country and the citizens.

This is even as over 700 residents of Modakeke and its environs in Ife-East Area Office of Osun State received cash gifts from the empowerment scheme of Engr. Kayode Sowade tagged Oyetola Hand of Fellowship.

The quarterly empowerment scheme which has become the household name in Ife land has been a source of motivation, inspiration and encouragement for the people of the ancient town as close to 3000 households had benefitted since its inception.

The beneficiaries went into jubilations upon receiving the cash gifts from the donor describing the gesture as unprecedented in their domain.

Recall that the Oyetola Hand of Fellowship empowerment scheme which was introduced in June, 2023 by Engr. Kayode Sowade as part of efforts to meet the most essential needs of the most vulnerable people in the town.

Speaking at the occasion, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola CON, reinstated the commitment of President Tinubu to build a virile economy that would be a proud for all and sundry.

The Minister expressed profound gratitude to the people of Modakeke and Ife land for their unprecedented love, passion, loyalty, resilience and commitment to the progressive party.

Oyetola who was represented by the former member of the Osun State House of Assembly, Hon. Festus Komolafe appealed to the beneficiaries to use the cash and other items received for the purpose it was intended for.

The former Osun State Governor who described the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as “God’s sent” appealed to the people in the country to exercise patience as his lofty policies and programmes painstakingly designed have begun to yield positive results.

He acknowledged the current socioeconomic realities particularly the adverse effect of subsidy removal urging the people of the country to keep their hope alive as the President was committed to rekindle their hope through his “Renewed Hope Agenda.”

“I want to commend the donor, Engr. Sowade for sustaining this laudable initiative since its introduction. This is indeed a successful continuation of our lofty social investment programmes that saw to the great empowerment of many citizens particularly the vulnerable and elderly who God Almighty helped us to impact immensely when we were at the helm of affairs in the state.

“To the beneficiaries, I want you to see this gesture as a great opportunity that must be treasured and cherished beyond this formal presentation. Kindly use the money given judiciously and maximize the opportunity as such that the it would have multiplier effect. Nothing is too small as business grant.

“Also, to some of us here who are party loyalists, I want to encourage us to hold firmly to the pillar of our party. Our party is one and there is no division as being speculated. There is just a single uniformed and united APC structure in Osun, anything short of this, is just a deceit. So, kindly continue to work for the goodness and betterment of the party. By the grace of God, we are coming back stronger to govern the state”, Oyetola said.

Earlier, the Executive Director (Project Implementation), Federal Housing Authority (FHA), Engr. Oluremi Omowaiye eulogized the philanthropic gesture of the donor, describing it as ‘worthwhile’.

Omowaiye who was the former Commissioner for Works and Transport disclosed some of the moves taken by the President to reposition the country across sectors saying efforts had reached the top gear on the massive implementation of housing scheme across the country.

He acknowledged some of the challenges confronting the country just as he reassured total breakthrough to the nation’s quagmire anytime soon

The donor, Engr. Kayode Sowade reassured his determination to sustain the scheme as planned.

He revealed that close to 3000 households had benefitted from the scheme since its inception just as he assured his commitment to expand its scope in the future to capture other aspects to continuously meet the people at the point of their needs.

While appreciating the impressive turn out of the people to the venue of the programme Sowade noted that it was an indication that the APC was still the people’s choice adding that “despite the fact that we are not in government in Osun, our people have continued showing love, compassion and affection for the party anytime any day.”

In his remarks, the Federal Commissioner, National Population Commission (NPC), Dr. Amidu Tadese expressed delight in the positive impact the Sowade’s gesture had made since the introduction of the empowerment programme just as he implored others to emulate for the betterment of the society.

Speaking in turn, the beneficiaries lauded the donor for counting them worthy just as they prayed God to spare his life to impact more in humanity.
