On Friday, March 15th, 2024, the widely revered Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Hrm. Oba Abdul-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi (JP), FCIPM, FNIM, MNIPR, Odundun IV Asoludero, officially handed over the Courts complex housing the State High Court and Magistrate Court constructed by the Community in Iragbiji to the Osun State Judiciary.

The High Court, now inaugurated by the Chief Judge of Osun State as the 15th Judicial Division in Osun state, was constructed by the Iragbiji community, reflecting a commitment to justice and the rule of law in the region.

The journey towards this milestone began in 2021 when the Iragbiji community requested the establishment of a High Court to bring the Judiciary closer to the people as well as concerns about the parlous condition of the Magistrate Court rented facility. According to Oba Olabomi, the decision to embark on the project was the decision of the all Stakeholders.

During his address at the commissioning ceremony, Oba Olabomi thanked the Chief Judge of Osun State, Hon. Justice Oyebola Adepele Ojo, for approving the courts’ establishment.

He emphasized the community’s pivotal role in the project’s completion, highlighting its collective spirit, dedication, and resilience. In addition, Oba Olabomi underscored the importance of maintaining the facilities and expressed hope for the judiciary’s strengthened role as the ultimate refuge of the oppressed.

The Court facility boasts of well-equipped courtrooms, offices, amenities, and conducive environment, positioning it as the best in Osun State and one of the best in the South Western region.

After the inauguration, the Aragbiji conducted the Chief Judge, Judges and other attendees round the spiralling complex and the State of the art facilities.

Notable attendees included the officials of the State Judiciary, led by the Chief Judge of Osun State, Hon. Justice Oyebola Adepele Ojo, other eminent Jurists, the Alagba of Aagba, Olororuwo of Ororuwo, Aragbiji-in-Council, Sons and Daughters of Iragbiji. Others present were Boripe LG Caretaker Chairman, Hon. Wasiu Babalola, Priests, Clerics, Baales of Iragbiji, Iragbiji residents and others.
