On February 29, 2024, Hrm. Oba Abdur-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi (JP) FCIPM, FNIM, MNIPR, Odundun IV Asoludero, the esteemed Aragbiji of Iragbiji, attended the 2024 Yoruba Security Summit at Ojaja Arena, Ife Grand Resort, Ile-Ife, Osun State.

The summit which addressed the surge in killings, maiming, and kidnappings in South West, Nigeria, witnessed distinguished attendance from numerous Yoruba traditional rulers.

In a poignant address, Oba Olabomi called for the government’s support in empowering and rehabilitating youths, particularly those susceptible to political manipulation, and advocated for the employment of 5 million youths to reduce criminal activities significantly, urging President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to spearhead the initiative.

Additionally, he proposed the establishment of rehabilitation centres for the army of social miscreants, drug addicts, and hugs in our nation. He also advocated for a thorough combing of Yorubaland’s forests to ensure they are not hiding places for criminals. Oba Olabomi underscores food security as a panacea for the threat of food insecurity facing our land.

The summit concluded with resolutions to assert control over Yoruba territories and bolster the Amotekun corps through enhanced motivation, finances, training, and equipment.
